The owners were exceptionally welcoming. Chimmy and Lala, the brothers, gave us local tips and helped arrange an authentic dessert tour that we highly recommend. Be sure to check out the small basement art gallery with works by local Rajasthan artists. Shanti Home is a charming family-run hotel near the Fort Gate. It's budget-friendly, with thoughtful touches like freshly prepared rooftop breakfast. Chimmy upgraded our room for free after we made a reservation mistake. The replacement room was noticeably more spacious, though the hot water tap didn't work while showering. We unexpectedly spent that second night in the dessert, so it wasn't much of an issue for us. All in all, highly recommendable in the heart of Jaisalmer.

Dinner was a highlight of our evening at the hotel. It was delicious and cooked to order with fresh ingredients. The rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the staff were attentive and happy to help. Great location too.

We really enjoyed dinner on the rooftop, with the fort right in front of us. The Rajasthani dishes were delicious. Hotel Shanti is well located, and Alit and Vyas are both so helpful. Their pride in the details of their culture comes through in the lovely decor and very clean rooms. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

The rooftop terrace is lovely, though it faces the street rather than the fort, which is a shame. The fort is close enough to walk to, but taking a rickshaw is more fun. The staff were very nice, and the price for what you get is hard to beat.

The basement art gallery is worth a look, with a beautiful collection of authentic patchwork art. The property makes an effort to offer an authentic experience throughout, and the hosts were wonderful. It’s a great budget-friendly stay, very close to the Fort Gate.
