The Wanderlust Guest House

The restaurant was one of my favorite spots, with cozy cushion corners where I could linger, eat, and look out at the golden city and fort. It felt like a little refuge from the busy streets, though the main sights were still about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel itself is lovely, clean, comfortable, and welcoming, with thoughtful details throughout. Padam was professional, kind, and always ready with useful advice or help. Staying here was part of what made me fall in love with Jaisalmer.

The room was spacious and the bathroom a decent size, and the hotel is close enough to walk to the fort. That walk wasn't pleasant, though, with open-drain smells and rubbish along the way. In the morning the power went out, and even the light didn't work despite reception saying the light and fan had battery backup. The sheets and towels looked grayish and unwashed, and some were torn. There's no tea or coffee setup in the room, though the rooftop cafeteria serves them, and reception displays an odd rule against alcohol in rooms. I stayed one night, found the place very average, and don't think I'd return.

Sleeping out under the stars was a real highlight, and the wanderlust guesthouse team made it comfortable with proper cots, mattresses, and bedding. The camel safari was very well arranged, with delicious food cooked fresh along the way. The guesthouse itself was clean and spacious, and the host and team were amazing. I'd absolutely recommend it.

We went on a two-day camel safari through wanderlust, and it was an incredible experience that didn't feel touristy. Padem was a great host and helped us feel completely at ease. The rooftop restaurant was also a lovely escape from the heat, with a nice view of the fort and really good food.
