The Royal Court Hotel & Spa

I booked a Deluxe Room at the Mai Royal Court Hotel & Spa through the corporate department, but it was uncomfortable. At reception, they said it was a very small room and suggested I pay an extra ₹500 for a bigger one. I told them I’d booked a Deluxe Room and expected that room. They confirmed it was a Deluxe Room, but that didn’t make it comfortable. There was only one towel, and no brush kit, shaving kit, or slippers. I had to call reception to get those arranged. The bathroom was so uncomfortable that taking a proper bath was difficult. At checkout, I asked for a bill to submit to my corporate office. The staff member said they couldn’t provide one because I’d booked online. My experience was very disappointing.

I was impressed by the on-site restaurant. Every meal tasted fantastic and was freshly made.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were polite. Those were the only bright spots in an otherwise disappointing two-day business stay in a Deluxe Room with breakfast included. The room was tiny, with no cupboards, hangers, or floor mats. After using the washroom, you had to step straight out onto the bed. The washroom itself was cramped, and there was no soap or dental kit, so I had to buy those myself. In the photos the hotel looks like a 3-star place, but in person it felt more like 1-star.

There are plenty of places to eat nearby in the market, as well as food options in the hotel. The location is very good, and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and very good. It felt like good value for money.
