The standout dish was the Gushtaba, which was absolutely delicious. I went to Taj Hotel, Jammu to try the Kashmiri food, and the whole meal was a lovely experience. The dishes were authentic, full of flavor, and carefully prepared. Great quality and taste throughout. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting authentic Kashmiri cuisine.

The washrooms for restaurant customers were filthy and had broken accessories. That was unacceptable and raised serious concerns about hygiene and management. I can’t speak to the rooms or other hotel facilities since I wasn’t staying there. I came back to the Hotel Taj restaurant in Jammu yesterday evening after nearly seven years. I remembered it as the best place in Jammu for both food and atmosphere, so I was looking forward to dinner. Instead, the food was average, without the distinctive flavor or quality I remembered. It felt uninspired and forgettable. The restaurant seems to be relying on its old reputation while current food quality and basic upkeep have slipped badly. It needs a capable administrator to address the food and cleanliness problems before its legacy is further damaged.

The chicken curry tastes great, though the chicken itself was very hard to chew and swallow. For Kashmiri Wazwan and some chicken dishes, though, this place has no comparison. The Taj has kept its legacy phenomenally well. Its Rista is the best in all Jammu, and the Roganjosh and Tabakmaaz are excellent too. One of the best non-veg restaurants in Jammu City, especially for mutton. Thanks to Taj Hotel for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended.

I spent 20 days at Hotel Taj in Jammu and felt comfortable and at home throughout. The market is nearby, handy for quick shopping or an evening walk, and the rooms were spacious, clean, well maintained, and peaceful after a tiring day. The hotel stands apart among its category in Jammu for its warm service and hospitality. The Manager and Reception team were courteous and professional from day one, always attentive and ready to help. I was fully satisfied with the service over the whole stay. My one suggestion is to add more breakfast variety, perhaps rotating different items on alternate days, which would be useful for long-stay guests. Thanks especially to Rahil and the staff for their dedication and warm welcome. It’s a pleasant, family-friendly hotel, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

The room was right by the road, so we heard scooters and bikes honking all night, along with shopkeepers shouting as they sold their goods. There were no amenities to speak of, and I had to ask for water, an electric kettle, and supplies. The room felt no better than a dharamshala. The hotel is tucked into a crowded area with very narrow lanes, and getting a car there was nearly impossible. After a difficult arrival, we found there was no hotel parking. Staff helped find parking, but it took almost an hour and cost 200 for the night. The lot was far away, so I left all our luggage in the car and had to hand the keys to the attendant with our belongings still inside. At checkout there was no hotel staff, and the guard who took payment didn’t know how to swipe a credit card. I still haven’t received an invoice. We were driving from srinagar to delhi and stopped in jammu for one night, but it turned into a disaster. I’ll never trust fab hotels or their rating policy again.
