OYO 29173 The Grand, Jammu

The Grand is an amazing palace, though I’m not sure how to review it since I wasn’t there for a function. The road leading to it is in poor condition, and the place can be hard to locate. It’s near International Delhi Public School. With your own bike or car, Google Maps makes it easy enough to find, but public transport could make the trip tricky even if you’re nearby.

The rooms are affordable and have a luxurious feel, with good bathrooms and safety lockers for extra security. The front grounds are nicely kept with grass and flowers. There are rooms, conference halls, and halls for marriage functions. I can’t say how the other halls are.

The road to the hall could be better, so keep that in mind. Inside, the halls have impressive lighting, and there’s a large open area that can hold around 750 people. The food is top notch. It’s worth considering for a big function.

Hospitality was the worst part. Staff weren’t even at reception, and whenever we needed something, we had to go all the way to the main gate to call someone. No one answered calls. If you don’t have your own vehicle, getting a taxi means walking 3-5 km, and there’s no accommodation, or it’s too expensive. The staff were very rude and stared intensely if you were with a woman. The whole place had negative vibes. I wouldn’t recommend it.
