Hotel Sunrise

We arrived at Sunrise around 11:45 PM, exhausted after our train was delayed, but the check-in became humiliating. We had booked two nights, 11 -12 March, and brought valid Aadhaar cards. My wife was in jeans and a Mandarin-collar shirt, with her hair in a bun, sindoor visible, and a mangalsutra on. Still, receptionist *NILESH* mocked her ID, asking why her Aadhaar details hadn't been changed to include my name instead of her father's. She calmly asked where the law requires a woman to change her name on Aadhaar or another government ID after marriage. He then said that without changed details, they would ask for a marriage certificate or photo, and that such things might happen in big cities but not there. It was intrusive, offensive, and completely unwarranted. Staff should verify valid ID and handle check-in, not question or validate someone's marital status. Demanding proof of marriage or making personal remarks is discriminatory and unacceptable. The receptionist also showed no basic courtesy or sensitivity. This points to poor staff training, a lack of professionalism, and disregard for guest dignity. The incident ruined our stay and left a lasting negative impression. I urge management to take strict action and train staff so no one else has to endure this humiliation.

The quiet atmosphere and soothing light instrumental music made the place feel just right. The staff were polite, and the food was delicious. I especially liked the North Indian Paneer Toofani, definitely recommend it.

The rooms are good, but the service was 0/10. Nobody helped with our luggage when we arrived, and there was no one around at checkout either. The room landline didn't work, and even after they gave us the hotel's telephone number, nobody answered. Decide for yourself whether you want to stay.
