Young Monk Hostel & Cafe Jibhi Hostel

Nearly two hours for omelettes, toast, and rice, even though there were only two other customers who arrived after us and got their food first. Really disappointing. Go only if you’re okay spending two hours waiting for decent food.

We paid more than we had at some much better places that cost half as much, so this stay didn’t feel worth the price. There wasn’t any water in the washroom at 7 in the morning. Reception said they’d fill it once the supply started, but it took another 30 minutes and made us late for sightseeing. The staff were blunt and rude, not friendly at all. Our room had nowhere to put clothes or luggage, no table or chair, and not even a surface for the lock and key. The host didn’t provide water either. The inside of the door had no handle, so opening it was a struggle.

Shiva was a big part of why I enjoyed my time at Young Monk Hostel in Jibhi. He was polite, helpful, and ready to lend a hand. The common areas felt cozy, a nice place to meet people or just sit with chai. The rooms were clean, the mountain views were beautiful, and the whole place had a peaceful feel. Great hospitality and people. I’d recommend it to anyone coming to Jibhi! 🌿🏔️

The room was smaller than I expected for the price, and the bedsheet wasn’t clean enough. There were no toiletries or towels, and no room or washroom sandals. There was just one foot mat in front of the bathroom. They said the electricity and voltage problems were Jibhi’s own issue, and the fan barely moved because of it. Still, the bed and washroom were good, and the staff were really good too. The cafe had a nice ambience, especially the seating, and the service was good. Food was above average. It’s a little uphill from the center, but quiet and peaceful. My overall stay rating is 3.5/5.
