The worst part of the stay was the service. Hot chocolate and lemon tea took an hour, and the receptionist seemed like she hadn't been paid for the past few months. The shower wasn't great, so we managed with the bucket. Our room was below average too: old bedsheets and sofa covers, and the balcony table looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. I don't expect luxury at a homestay, but I do expect cleanliness. We told them we'd arrive at 2.30 pm and they confirmed they could provide lunch, but when we got there the cook had left and the kitchen had closed at 2 pm. We had to take the kids back out for lunch, and my elder son got food poisoning, spoiling our day. We expected more personal care and interaction, but it felt like an average hotel, perhaps because we only met staff and not the host. With the high ratings, maybe my expectations were too high. Just OK.

We had a great time at this beautiful property in the middle of the city. The rooms were nice and clean, and the food was amazing. Everyone on staff was warm and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable throughout the stay. I'd love to come back.

The room was huge and close to many restaurants and the fort, but this was my worst stay anywhere. The sheets had blood stains, the curtains and couch were extremely dirty, and there wasn't enough hot water for a shower. Service was poor too, with no smile from the receptionist or anyone else. Because I asked for no other housekeeping, I was told I had to pay for bottled water in the room. That made no sense to me. At 1or 2 thousand for a room, I'd have expected less, but the price was astronomical for what we got. Based on these problems, I believe most of the reviews are fake.

We meant to stay only briefly, but extended our visit as soon as we saw how comfortable it was. The homely feel made it easy to unwind, and the staff's made-to-order service was exceptional. They seemed to anticipate what we needed before we asked, and made our group feel very welcome and well looked after. A real gem for family groups looking for a personal touch.

The host gave us useful recommendations for sightseeing, places to eat, and good spots for photos, which added a lot to our trip. We had booked the Super Deluxe Room with one extra bedding by phone, and it was spacious and comfortable, as expected for that category. Every meal we tried was delicious, with generous portions. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and tasted fresh, and the meal prices were very affordable. We had a memorable stay at Hanuwant Niwas a couple of days ago and would recommend it to anyone visiting.
