OYO 19450 The Kamdhenu Inn

I wasn’t sure about booking after reading the mixed reviews, but the lower price and the room photos persuaded me. When I arrived, it was a relief to find the rooms really did look like the pictures. They were quite comfortable, and the limited room service menu had good food. The hotel also arranged food from outside that wasn’t on the menu, with a service charge. I asked the manager about some of the bad reviews online. He said it’s impossible to satisfy every customer, and that people might leave a bad review if they don’t get a full cancellation refund. He also said some complaints may be partly true: in peak season service can get delayed, which customers understandably don’t accept. He said they encourage both good and bad reviews so they can learn what they do well and what needs improving. My stay was pleasant, and I hope yours is too.

The hotel’s location was okay, but the room was filthy. We checked five rooms trying to find a better one. In the end, a friend’s room had a broken window, while another smelled of cigarette smoke. There was no ventilation, and the toilet bowl hadn’t been cleaned. Even at ₹1000 through OYO, I didn’t expect rooms this bad. I wasn’t satisfied.

The room service meal was only adequate, but everything else made a lovely impression. The staff were helpful and kind, and the room had a beautiful, luxurious feel. The bathroom was especially good, with an incomparable shower and a separate tub.

The rooms matched the photos, were clean, and had the basic amenities. Check the Wi-Fi before settling in, though, since there was no network when we stayed. For food, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available, but booking through the OYO app matters because otherwise the price is about double. To find the hotel, go to the main entrance of "bhagat ki kothi" railway station and turn left. It's around 500-900 m from there. City buses are an option for getting around.
