Uday Backwater Resort

The room had a lovely scenic view, and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant food was good as well. The staff were helpful and courteous from check-in through checkout, and they made sure our needs were taken care of. I visited the resort with my family for the first time, and the whole experience was phenomenal. There were also Emu and other birds on the property, which was a nice extra. I’d definitely recommend a visit with friends or family.

It’s a five-star facility, so the price is on the high side. The resort is by the river, and sitting there with the view was lovely. It’s near the starting point, alappuzha, and there’s plenty of parking. The rooms and surroundings are kept neat and clean by the staff, who are friendly and genuine with guests. There are children’s play areas, a games room, a great pool, and a good restaurant with lots of variety. They also have turkeys and birds that add to the atmosphere.

We had a beautiful view of Punnamada lake, and the service throughout our three-night stay was excellent. Hari made sure every part of the stay was wonderful. Adhil noticed me walking back with shopping bags and helped carry them to my room. Sooraj was great to talk with about food options and the Ayurvedic plants used in Indian dishes. Paul and Pranav were a pleasure to meet and very helpful too. We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

We had a family stay in three premier rooms, which were immaculate, with balconies overlooking the lake. I enjoyed my morning coffee with a butterfly greeting me. The grounds were beautiful, including two Emu’s, and the pool was heavenly. The restaurant was exceptional, with so many choices, both savory and sweet. My favorite was banana bread with coffee. Everyone was kind, and the service was top-notch. Several of us had spa treatments, ten in total, and for me the Marma was the best massage I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many. Team Uday does it right.
