Hotel Arms

We really liked the hotel, especially the clean, well-maintained rooms and the very polite, helpful staff. The view is one of the best parts, and the food was the main disappointment. The complimentary breakfast wasn’t up to the mark. Hotel Arms in Kalimpong is some distance from Damber Chowk, up a steep road. It takes around a 20-minute uphill walk to get there, so I wouldn’t recommend walking from town with elderly people. You’d need to hire a car from the taxi stand, which costs around ₹200. For younger people, the climb shouldn’t be a big issue. Apart from the food, it’s a very good hotel with excellent rooms and a beautiful view.

Mr. Pawan, the manager, went out of his way to make us comfortable. He was professional and warm, and the whole team was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The meals were delicious and well prepared, and the hotel’s service and food made the stay feel like good value. We stayed in Room 301, which had a breathtaking panoramic view. It came with the basic amenities we needed. The bathtub was a highlight for unwinding after sightseeing, and modern facilities were well maintained. Generator backup kept the power on. Hotel ARMS in Kalimpong gave me a wonderful experience, and I’d definitely return on my next trip.

The view from my first-floor deluxe room covered the whole of kalimpong, and the food was tasty. The room was spacious and very clean, as was the bathroom. I did miss having a hanger in the washroom for clothes. On the day we checked out, water stopped running in the washroom because of a pump issue. After we told the staff, they let us use the bathroom in the nearby room. The service was top notch. It’s a little way from the main Hat bazaar, up a steep climb.

We shared some lovely moments there, including a karaoke night and dancing together. The view from every room was mesmerizing, and the staff and owner were exceptionally warm and hospitable. It was a truly delightful, memorable stay, and I highly recommend the place.
