The Shire Kalimpong Homestay

The food was fresh and delicious, and everyone at our family celebration enjoyed it. We held our son's first birthday here, and the warm atmosphere made it a lovely place for the occasion. From the start, the staff were kind, attentive and accommodating. They set everything up beautifully and took care over all the details. We're grateful to the whole team for helping make such a memorable day for our little one. Highly recommended for a special occasion.

We only spent a day here, but it felt like a little break for the soul. The food was wonderful, the café was so cozy it nearly made me want to quit my job and become a poet, and our room was spacious and comfy enough that I almost asked to move in. The place has peaceful vibes, and every staff member we met was kind and helpful, though my goldfish memory means I can't name them all. Sudesh, the manager, has Jedi-level hospitality, and Dikshya made us feel like VIPs, even though my friend and I were just two mildly confused travelers looking for chai and chill. People really do make a place awesome. Just don't raise the prices after reading this, we're already emotionally invested in coming back!

The ambience was the one good thing. The taste was average, and even a regular order of veg fried rice, chilly chicken and chilly paneer for four people took more than an hour to arrive, despite there being only a few customers. Come here only if you've got plenty of time, or want to test your patience.

We had a great stay, and the rooftop café has a lovely view and atmosphere. There’s wifi, so it's a good place if you want to get some work done and enjoy your time too. The manager was helpful and guided us on other places to explore. Mr. Pravesh served us and was very proficient, with a soft-spoken manner. There were three of us, and we got a good room at a cheap rate. The people were really nice. This was the best stay of our trip.
