The garden was lovely, and the neighbourhood was peaceful and convenient. Our host was friendly and around throughout our stay to make sure we had what we needed. The place was incredibly clean and looked much better in person than in the photos. You can tell the property is very well cared for and that hosting is taken seriously. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Kannur.

Our first homestay in Kannur felt more like a visit to our grandparents’ home by the time we left. Reema Ma’am’s kindness especially touched us. She even gave us fresh fruit from their garden when we were leaving. The lovely couple who run it, Adnan and Reema, clearly care deeply about the place and their guests. We stayed with my mother, and since we were two women travelling alone, we were initially cautious about safety. Those concerns faded because the owner was on the property 24/7, and we felt secure and looked after. Although the house is a little outside the city centre, getting a cab or auto was easy, and the owner quickly helped arrange one when we needed it. The spacious, comfortable home is kept exceptionally clean, with a peaceful garden and comfortable seating in the living room. Each day we got complimentary breakfast, a fresh milk packet, and fresh towels. The kitchen has all the essentials, including utensils, an oven, toaster, kettle, and gas stove. There’s a good TV with OTT access and reliable WiFi, too. Waking up to birdsong in the tranquil setting was refreshing, while the city was still close enough. Highly recommend for a safe, peaceful, homely stay in Kannur.

The owners’ kindness stood out throughout our three days at Monsoon Apartments. We needed help renting bikes during the festival rush, and they arranged an auto as well. After one of us had a minor injury and needed hospital treatment at night, the owner came by personally to check that everything was alright. Adnan and Reema also let us stay until our 1:30 a.m. train without charge, even though checkout was at 7:00 p.m., and dropped us at the station around midnight. They made our early check-in at about 5:30 a.m. possible, even though many hotels wouldn’t. Adnan handed us the keys himself and brought complimentary food and milk. We were touched by such a warm welcome, and the apartment was much more comfortable and sophisticated than we’d expected. The area is quiet and peaceful, and from the balcony you feel close to nature. The rooms were neat, spacious, and well maintained. There’s strong WiFi throughout and a TV with OTT streaming. The kitchen had everything from utensils to an oven and toaster, and complimentary food was provided for two days. Our stay was unforgettable thanks to the calm surroundings, good facilities, and the owners’ care. I’d recommend it to friends and family visiting Kannur for a peaceful, worry-free stay. The garden brought so much peace and was a lovely place for my two-year-old to kick her ball or take a walk. The home itself is spacious, well planned, and furnished, in a quiet neighbourhood that’s still close to the main shopping areas. An auto to town, nearby restaurants, or beaches usually cost 100-150 INR. Adnan, the owner and caretaker, was quiet and humble, but did so much to make sure my mother, daughter, and I were safe and looked after. He brought milk in the mornings and evenings, rode his scooter to the road to call autos for our outings, and suggested places to visit and eat. His wife brought homemade snacks for breaking the fast during Ramadan, and a few small gifts for my daughter when we left. This is the sort of place where you can relax and feel at home. Even all the stars in the sky wouldn’t be enough for our stay. We can’t wait to return.
