Surya Heritage Hotels

Surya Heritage feels like a traditional home, quietly updated for today. Those of us who remember big airy rooms, cool interiors, and old-fashioned passageways will recognise the feeling. The staff are brilliant and efficient, and the menu is stupendously tasty. Go stay, refresh yourself, and be glad fine living hasn’t disappeared into the past.

We spent the weekend at this classic white-and-wood property, with an old-world, almost royal feel. The heavy woodwork and dim lighting in the excellent rooms gave it a real Kerala vibe. Staff were helpful and even arranged a cake for our celebration. Breakfast took a really long time after we ordered, though, so leave extra time if you’re in a hurry.

The food was good, though not outstanding, and we had a small water-clogging issue that was fixed right away. It’s a well-kept heritage house in Kerala style, with clean, maintained rooms and easy access to popular places. The hospitality team was friendly. Highly recommended.

The heritage bungalow is beautifully maintained, and the food was homely, very well prepared, and reasonably priced. The manager went out of his way to help us plan our itinerary, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. Surya Heritage Hotel made for a comfortable, charming stay in central Kannur. We could sometimes hear music and bar noise inside the room. The windows opened onto a common area, so we kept them shut for privacy.
