Camp Paradise

The food was okay, and I did enjoy the artists' programme and camel safari. But those are offered free at almost every camp, often with a better setup, sound system, and welcome drink. The tent here was dirty and poorly cleaned. There were no mirrors, the floor was bare ground, and we had no fan or electricity. For any problem we had to go to the office and ask repeatedly, then wait anywhere from 30 minutes to 5 or 6 hours for it to be fixed. The hotel name on the campsite didn't match the name on the website. A jeep was available outside for much less than the hotel's price. Ours gave us only five minutes to see the actual desert, despite a 20-minute trip in total, and we nearly had an accident because of the driver arranged by the hotel manager. For what we paid, this wasn't worth it.

We stayed for two nights over Deepawali and booked two premium camps. The view of the sunset and sunrise from the camp was great, right across from the Sam sand dune. The camp itself was very good, the food was good too, and the whole stay felt like good value for money.

The evening camel rides were great, and the early morning sunrise was especially beautiful. Such a lovely place. You really need to be here at night to understand it.

The location is right opposite Sam Dunes, and the fire broker was unbelievable. This is the best resort in Sam. The staff are really good and serve things on time, and the food quality is excellent.
