Dinner by the dunes was a memorable touch. We stayed one night at Desert retreat, and the room was cozy, with a large floor-mounted AC that could do both hot and cold. The food was excellent and tasty. A wonderful stay all around.

We were there in November, and the nights got pretty cold, so bring heavy clothes. The beds have electric heating blankets, though, so you’ll be warm when you go to sleep. Sunset point in the dunes was the highlight. The view was awesome, and my daughter played there for about an hour before the desert cold sent us back. They provided tea and water there, though snacks would have been nice. Back at camp, the gala dinner was well arranged and the snacks were good. Drinks were available for a reasonable paid price, though soft drinks could have been complimentary. Sandhya did a good job anchoring the cultural program. It ended with a buffet dinner, then we returned to our tents. Breakfast the next morning was well arranged, and the courteous staff served us well. On arrival I felt good, though we didn’t get a traditional welcome. The rooms and washrooms were clean, and the evening tea snacks were okay but could be better.

The camp authorities were hospitable, and it’s a nice place to visit with friends or family. We booked the Jeep Safari and camel ride directly through the camp, enjoyed both, and they brought us back once we were satisfied. The evening cultural show followed by DJ was fun for everyone. Dinner and breakfast were authentic traditional Rajasthani meals.
