The Carvaan Resort

The food was excellent, a definite 5 out of 5. My jeep safari was unforgettable, and even with the weekend rush it started on time. I strongly recommend this resort for a stay in Jaisalmer, especially the desert package. The staff were great to work with. Special thanks to receptionist Manjur Ali and Wasim Akram for their help and cooperation.

The food was good and the cultural program was okay, though there weren’t many people there. The activities, on the other hand, felt overpriced, so agree on a deal before you arrive. Over the phone, the 1k price was said to cover camel ride, food, and jeep safari. Once we got there, they pushed us to pay another 2.5k for a longer desert tour, showing attractive photos of golden sands. They said we’d see three deserts, but it was the same desert from three spots just behind the resort. Staff seemed to take different roles to sell the same package at different prices, and the driver was involved too. Better deals are available elsewhere.

The stay was peaceful, and the resort was clean and well maintained. The rooms and spacious washrooms were good, the staff spoke nicely, and the high tea, dinner, and breakfast were all decent. The tea could be better. I’ve taken off two stars because at checkout the front desk employee took my phone and posted a five-star review for me. I was going to rate them well anyway, but that wasn’t okay. They also charged 3800/- for a jeep safari with no other activity included, which seemed a bit high.

Shamsher khan was especially helpful and always available whenever we needed something. The staff were courteous and cooperative throughout. We booked two rooms at Carvaan Resort, both clean, spacious, and well kept. It had a peaceful feel, a nice break from the city, and the fresh, tasty food rounded out a very pleasant, relaxing stay.
