The bathroom was the main letdown. There was no hot water at night, even in winter, and the showerhead needs cleaning. Pressure was decent, but that didn’t help with the dirty showerhead. It seemed they may leave the boiler off when occupancy is low. Hotel Royal Cliff, Kanpur made a decent base for a short stay. The lobby was bright and clean, and my room was reasonably tidy, functional, and modern enough, though nothing special. The bed felt worn and wasn’t very comfortable, while the air conditioning was only average. I didn’t use the wifi, so I can’t say how fast it was. Fine if you keep your expectations modest, though comfort and basic amenities could be better.

The food was poor, and it took about 50 minutes to arrive even though only 5 of the 10 tables were booked. There wasn’t a child seat to make our child comfortable, either. You don’t expect this kind of service at a five-star restaurant.

The service was very bad. I raised it with the manager and got no reply. At checkout, they didn’t even put my luggage in the car.

Good for a corporate stay, especially since it’s very close to the office. The food is freshly cooked and served well. Trance & mediterra have a modern style, and the pool is good for the size of the hotel. There’s only a small seating area at the poolside restaurant.

The staff are all good, and service is quick. The food is very good too. Rooms are above average, with a decent view of the city. Restaurant and poolside mediterra are pleasant, and Trance bar is cool. It’s very near the hospital, market, and metro station.
