OYO 1526 Gagan Plaza Hotel

It’s been operating since 2007 and has been renovated twice. The location is strategic, only about 10 minutes from the railway station. The entry-level rooms are cramped, with lighting that’s no better than a candlelit dinner. Rooms on the 4th floor are decent, though they cost 3k+. Service for food orders is lightning fast, and the food tastes great without causing any trouble afterward. I did find the prices a little high. The linen and washrooms were clean, there’s an in-house bar and laundry, and plenty of parking. The staff are humble and courteous, and many have been there since the beginning. I’d definitely recommend the property.

I’m giving it five stars because they’ll check in travellers and foreign tourists at night. After trying 10 other hotels, this was the only one that would, so thanks 🙏. The reception team were helpful, and the service was good. I can’t remember the name of the guy who helped me most, but he said he was from Varanasi and his name ended in J. I really appreciated his help. The rooms could be just a little cleaner, though they’re already very good for India. It also looks like the hotel is taking steps to renovate bit by bit. They had three weddings while I was there, so it seems like a nice place for Indian weddings.

Manager Amit Srivastava was especially good at handling the situation, and his behaviour was excellent. The service was excellent too. Best hotel I’ve visited so far, and Hotel Gagan Plaza is worth booking.

A really poor experience. The food was the worst part for the price, and the room intercom didn’t work. The air conditioner made all kinds of noises, including sounds like pigeons and crows. Every room had seepage, and there wasn’t any drinking water in the rooms. I’d never recommend visiting or staying here.
