Tea took an hour to arrive, and there were no towels or sanitary kits in the room. The employees had an attitude, too. I paid the full deluxe rate, but because I was alone they gave me a single-bed room. Early check-in was also too expensive. Worst experience, I’ll never return. The owner himself gives the hotel full 5-star ratings on OYO by grabbing the guest’s phone. He won’t let you submit a rating.

I booked through Oyo, but got a 4-foot diwan-style bed that could fit one person, with two people having to adjust on it. Room service was very poor. They accepted a next-day booking at the Oyo price, which I didn’t expect, but they didn’t add tea, coffee, or sugar sachets and charged extra.

The rooms weren’t maintained, and there was an open hole in the ceiling for a light. The receptionist was very rude, and nobody welcomed us when we arrived. Even though my booking was confirmed at the same amount, they first refused to check us in and then said we’d have to pay more. If it were possible, I’d give this a negative rating.

I’d booked a room in advance for 5th December because I had an exam, but when I arrived they said there was no booking under my name. They told me to contact OYO customer care, then refused to speak to them when customer care asked for the manager. With no other options, I ended up booking there anyway and paid 1700, 800 through the OYO app and another 900 at the hotel. This isn’t an OYO hotel now, and the whole thing was probably my worst OYO experience ever. The room smelled foul, there was hair and stains on the bedding, and the bathroom stank too. The toilet had poop stains, the TV remote didn’t work, and the room felt suffocating. After my exam, I left as soon as I got back. Even the railway waiting room was far better. If you’re in Kanpur for just a few hours for an exam like I was, I’d suggest the railway waiting room instead. It costs 10 rupees per hour.
