Even at around ₹580 a day, basic cleanliness and working facilities should be expected. I stayed at Sant Villa, Kanpur for two days while visiting for an exam, and the room felt more like a temporary shelter than a hotel. There were cobwebs all over, dirt in the corners, and gutka stains in the sink, on the walls, and by the bed. The bedsheets and blankets were extremely dirty, seemed unwashed, and smelled strongly like used socks, so it was impossible to sleep comfortably. The water jugs and glasses were heavily scaled and didn’t look hygienic. The washroom flush was broken, with an unclean balti-lota setup in its place. I’ve stayed in several budget hotels and never felt this disheartened. Low prices don’t excuse such poor cleanliness and upkeep. I’m adding photos for reference. I hope the owner or operator takes this as constructive criticism and makes the needed improvements. With proper cleaning and basic maintenance, this place could be much better.

The Sikh guy was polite and helpful. Everything else was fine for the price, I mean, what more do you expect for 550? The bed was small for someone over 6ft, though, and the sheet could’ve been warmer for winter.

I paid 800 for one night in a single room, and at that price I can’t recommend it. The room was dirty, even the water mug was full of dust, and the blankets and bedsheet were unclean and smelled bad 😕.

The poor upkeep and lack of amenities made for an uncomfortable stay at Hotel Sant Villa. The linens were stained, the rooms were unclean and smelled musty, and amenities were broken or missing. The staff seemed untrained and didn’t respond well, so check-in and even basic requests were a hassle. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay. Save your money and book elsewhere.
