Hotel Viswa Residency

We booked ten days ahead for a family trip, but things went downhill as soon as we arrived. The front desk staff were rude and indifferent. The area was congested and messy, with a narrow lane leading to the hotel. There’s proper parking for about four or five cars, which was about the only positive. The rooms were in poor condition: the AC didn’t work, the sheets and curtains smelled bad, and cleanliness was unacceptable. When I complained, the front desk person got defensive and rude. He said he’d have been happier if I hadn’t come, which was disrespectful and unprofessional. I also saw him shouting at other guests and behaving strangely. He kept hitting his head and seemed like he might be under the influence of something. We’d planned to stay for two days but decided to leave right away. The place was dirty and poorly managed, and staff behavior showed no basic hospitality. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The balcony has a stunning morning view. It’s away from the crowds but still not too far from vivekanda rock, about a five-minute ride to the main town. Rooms and bathrooms were moderately tidy, though the linens weren’t very clean. I’d suggest it if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place.

The view was the only good part: the location is peaceful, with a nice view away from the main crowd. But the rooms weren’t maintained well. The bedsheets were torn, there was no soap or toiletries, and even basic water wasn’t available. It’s also around 2 km from the main attractions, so transport is needed to get around conveniently. Given the room condition, there are better nearby options. I’d recommend checking other places if you can.

There are two hotels, viswa grand and viswa residency, and we had booked viswa residency in advance. It’s a little inside from the main road, but the manager, staff, and facilities were all 10/10. They arranged autos whenever we needed to travel or get to the railway station, and handled all our needs without trouble. AC rooms are available, and the balconies on the top floors have a bomb view. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again on a future visit to Kanyakumari.
