The Majestic Cedar

This homestay-style hotel has spacious rooms with a good view, and the food is very good. The mall is about five minutes away by car, though it's not walkable for older people. The last 100 metres of the approach road are narrow, so you have to approach carefully.

The air feels clean and pure at this beautiful place. Sunset point, gilbert trail and monkey point are all very close, within walking distance.

The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the little balcony looks out over the hills. At night, you can easily see Shimla on the horizon. There’s ample parking, a small garden and outdoor seating, and the upper floor rooms have better views. Prices are reasonable, and the humble, courteous staff are always available if you need anything. The place is well maintained and in a good location. Just note there’s no lift. I’ll definitely come back.

The scenic views and clean rooms, corridors and surroundings made The Majestic Cedar Homestay a beautiful place to stay. We also enjoyed the games section and using the yoga and meditation room. Dinner was disappointing, though. The dal, vegetables and chapatis arrived cold. When we told the staff, they were extremely rude and said, “If you don't like it, leave it and eat somewhere else.” We enjoyed the property and amenities, but the poor meal and unprofessional behavior from some staff left a bad impression.
