Our scheduled check-in was at 1 pm, but the reception team arranged a smooth early check-in at 9 am. They also gave us a complimentary ride to the helipad and a pickup from Darshani Dwar, even though neither was included in our package. The rooms were tidy, the food was delicious, and the staff were well trained and courteous, especially at reception. The hotel, now known as Clarks Inn Suites, is right on Jammu Road in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, the base camp for Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra. It’s about 600 meters from the main Market and Yatra Parchi Counter, and around 1.5 Km from the Railway Station. A very good experience.

The rooms were good, with hot water, clean linen and enough toiletries. It’s also fairly close to the Kayra railway station and not too far from the Ban Ganga entrance for the Vaishnodevi yatra. The downside is the room price for walk-in guests, ₹ 1200 for 6 hours, which is astronomically high. Still, a reasonably good hotel.

The rooms smelled awful, there were termites all over, and the service was the worst. I don’t know why they’re operating in these conditions.
