The cultural dance program arranged for guests was lovely and entertaining, and the food was good. We chose Rann Bhumi Homestay Resort for an authentic village-style stay, and the traditional Bhunga huts with their local designs delivered that rustic feel. The regular rooms are larger and very comfortable. For two people, a Bhunga should work, and a child can fit too, but space is tight and there isn’t much room for luggage. Three adults would be better off in a regular room. Hygiene and cleanliness could be improved, and basic toiletries would make things more comfortable. Apart from that, everything was fine. The resort is quite far inside the area, so get the directions beforehand, as it can be tricky to find after dark. A nice experience, and I’d recommend it to families and tourists looking for a traditional village atmosphere.

The location was a real plus: peaceful and a reasonable distance from the White Rann, away from the main tourist bustle but still easy to reach. There’s good parking too, which is handy if you’re travelling by road. I spent one night in a traditional Bhunga and it was a highlight of my trip. The round hut and traditional décor gave it a rich old cultural feel and a real sense of village life in Kutch. The room was surprisingly spacious, with room for three without feeling cramped. It was clean and comfortable for a night, and the attached bathroom was modern and nice. A great mix of rustic charm and useful comforts.
There’s a temple on the property, so guests are expected to keep decorum and avoid alcohol and similar items. We found the place peaceful and culturally rich, with a true traditional Indian home feel. The food was delicious and homely, parking was ample and convenient, and the bonfire or campfire facilities made the evenings enjoyable.
The dinner had a nice variety of local Gujarati dishes, and I liked the local atmosphere. Breakfast and service could be better, though it was still a nice place to stay overall. One note: the Google location is wrong and the stay is a little farther ahead. They’ve put up boards, so watch for those along the road.
This homestay has more than 20 well-maintained rooms, and ours was clean and good. Dinner was tasty and authentic. Local people performed a dance program at night. Recommended.
