Hotel Vijay International

We were charged 40 rs for a glass of plain milk without sugar for a 2 year old, and it wasn’t even 250 ml. I’ve stayed at lots of hotels, and nobody else has charged for milk for a baby. The hotel doesn’t know how to show hospitality to customers, they just want money. There was no cleanliness, and the staff were mannerless. Big thieves, a very bad hotel. A big NO. I’ll never recommend it to anyone. If negative stars had been an option, that’s what I would have given.

The rooms were filthy and smelled bad, and the cab service was just as disappointing. They pack 8-10 people into a space meant for 6, take ages, and leave you about 1 km from the railway station. Nearly every hotel offers cab service for free, so go somewhere else. They make lots of promises before you check in, then the stay turns into a nightmare. The reception guy was pathetic and, in my view, has no shame taking advantage of people in a holy place. Worst hotel.

The food was okay, fairly priced, and came in good portions. The car service was useful too. But I wouldn't recommend staying here. We found the hotel through a representative at the railway station, who offered us a room plus pickup and drop-offs between the station and hotel, and Bangagnga and the hotel. That sounded convenient since we wouldn't need to haggle with local autos. The room had several problems. The toilet flush kept running because it was faulty; after we complained, they used a trick to stop it and said the button was stuck, but the issue returned as soon as we used it. The outside door handle was broken and wasn't fixed after we reported it. The bathroom hook was broken too, and there were no towels. We asked about checking out late because it would take us time to come down from the bhavan. At the station, we'd been told an extra hour after the 12 pm checkout would cost a couple of hundred, but at the hotel they said we could stay until 12:30 and would be charged for a full day after that. They did offer lockers for our things, so we could leave later without paying extra.

There were cockroaches and spiders wandering around the room, which was unhygienic, and the service was very slow. Management was awful, and the manager came across as arrogant. They promised free transport, then charged us for the railway station drop. Worst stay I've ever had. I wouldn't give this hotel even one star.
