Ganesh, the caretaker, was friendly and took great care of us. The service was tremendous, and they provided rides wherever we needed to go without charging extra. The rooms were neat and clean, with a good amount of space, not cramped or overly large. It's a little far from the market.
The room was messy and disorganized, and the washroom was both tiny and dirty. The AC wasn't working properly. When I told the host, he said I should find another hotel. There were no food options, and the food the host offered was very expensive. The main Katra market is a long way away, too. I can't see how this hotel got an 8.1 rating. I strongly don't recommend it for families.
I came from Nagaland to J&K hoping to see a local town and experience its culture. This homestay is on the outskirts, and I had a great stay. The owner was very helpful and spoke English, and guided me well. The caretaker doesn't speak English, but people around were kind. I'd recommend it for experiencing local culture and the countryside.
This place is basically a hotel in a remote residential area, not a homestay. A few boys look after it, and they weren't very helpful. They seemed cunning and money-minded. Sahil was one of them.
The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, and the flask left in the room was so filthy it could put someone off drinking water. The caretaker was arrogant and refused every service I asked about, including an evening snack, dinner, a ride to my destination, and room service. Even dharamshalas are much better. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
