Katra Marriott Resort & Spa

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with stunning views, and the food was excellent throughout our stay. We visited Katra Marriott Resort & Spa back in January'26, and though this review is long overdue, the experience stayed with me. Deepak, the Front Office Manager, made sure everything went smoothly, and Sanjit and Amarjit at the restaurant were warm and attentive. It was a fantastic stay that we remember fondly. I'd definitely recommend it and hope to visit again!

We arrived around 12:45 AM, when prompt help matters, but reception couldn't get a faulty washroom door that wouldn't shut fixed. The staff member sent up said it would have to wait until morning. That isn't acceptable for such a basic problem at a Marriott property. The poor maintenance and slow response made for a very disappointing stay. I expected more professionalism from a hotel of this standard.

The food and the welcome from the staff were the best parts of our family stay at Katra Marriott Resort & Spa. At Three Peaks, Ravi looked after us at breakfast, where we especially liked the beetroot halwa and parathas among the healthy choices. Nishant served dinner at our table from the buffet and was attentive too. We also enjoyed the greenery and facilities around the property, including the pool, gym, garden, and badminton court. A wedding was taking place, and the setting under the holy banyan tree looked lovely for a celebration. We came to visit Mata Vaishno Devi and picked this hotel on a friend's recommendation to be away from the busy market. The electric car was waiting to collect us from Shri Shakti Express as requested. From the driver to the reception team, everyone was warm. Mohit made us comfortable, and check-in took only a few minutes. Our luxurious, comfortable room had a wonderful view of the Mata Rani hills. We had breakfast at Three Peaks, the coffee shop and live restaurant on the fourth floor, and enjoyed the variety. The grounds, food, and hospitality made the visit a relaxing one for my family. I'd recommend the property for a break or a special celebration.

The hygiene was concerning, with some areas seeming poorly maintained, and the food choices were limited. What was available didn't taste good enough to justify the price. Staff also seemed untrained and confused by basic requests, making the stay frustrating. The general manager came across as arrogant and dismissive rather than helpful or willing to find a solution. It left me feeling that guest concerns weren't being taken seriously. Customer service fell well short of what I expected from the Marriott brand, and the stay didn't meet even basic expectations. I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone seeking a comfortable, pleasant stay.
