Casino Hotel - Cgh Earth, Cochin

I’ve stayed at Casino CGH twice, and it’s the hotel I think of when I think of Kochi. The food is a big part of that: there’s plenty of variety, the desserts are especially impressive, and the quality was good enough that I could stay there for 10 days with a well-fed toddler. Staff were consistently nearby and quick to help. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the pool was clean, spacious enough, and had accommodating hours. The location works really well for the water metro and fort kochi. The only hassle nearby is finding a chemist; Instamart worked fine for other needs. The gym and indoor play equipment were adequate and mostly well maintained. They also set up a kids’ area with slides and balls on Sundays, though we usually missed it. Vyshak and his team made my sister’s wedding at Casino Hotel, Kochi run smoothly, and Rahul was also a great help. They understood what we needed and took care with all the arrangements. Vyshak kept things light with his humor, which helped us relax, and even though he wasn’t feeling well, he came back in time to make sure everything went right. The food was a hit with our guests, especially the pork. It was a memorable, beautifully organized event, and we’re grateful to the whole team. Highly recommend them.

The place was clean and had a great ambience, but the Mediterranean seafood platter from the à la carte menu was a letdown. It cost around 5000 bucks and the portion could feed two adults and two kids, yet the taste was very bland. It seemed to come straight from the fridge, not hot or even warm. I’d read and heard May reviews praising their seafood, so I’d gone in with high expectations.

We had a relaxing stay here, helped by the calming atmosphere, soothing fragrance, lovely decor, and friendly staff. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, and the staff were accommodating. Dinner and breakfast buffets both had an excellent spread of veg and non-veg dishes. We also liked the dim, atmospheric bar and its broad drinks selection, especially the whisky menu. Our one small frustration was that the restaurant only opens at set times, so we couldn’t get lunch after arriving late. Still, I’d fully recommend staying here, and we’ll be back.
