Cochin Palace

Room 303 was clean and comfortable. Even with the restaurant and bar directly above on the fourth floor, the speaker vibrations didn’t carry down to the room. The noise from chairs and furniture being moved around for nighttime cleaning did, though, and it was very disruptive on the third floor. The staff should take more care with that.

The people here made a strong impression on us. At reception, Ms.Roksana and Mr. Vineesh were friendly, polite, and very helpful. The security staff member on duty the evening of March 8th also gave us kind assistance. In the dining room, Ms. Lani went out of her way to return my wife’s handbag to our room after she left it behind. It had cash and important documents inside, and we’re very grateful for her honesty. May God bless her. There were a few room issues: the AC wasn’t cold enough, and water collected near the bathroom door in the dry area, making the floor slippery. The hotel sits off a busy street down a narrow lane, so parking and unloading luggage can be tricky. We’ll come back.

The food was delicious, from the Kerala dishes to the continental choices, and the portions and presentation were just right. The bar team had a good cocktail selection and were welcoming, too. We had a great time at Hotel Cochin Palace. The bar felt comfortable but still classy, and the staff were quick, attentive, and always served us with a smile. It’s a relaxing place for a meal or a drink in the heart of Kochi. I’d recommend it.

For the price, this is a nice, affordable hotel for a weekend in the middle of the city. The food tastes good and the staff are courteous. Parking is a bit tight because of limited space, but the staff manage it well. A good stay for what you pay.
