Gama Heritage Residency

The location is pretty good, the staff are friendly, and breakfast is included, which was basic but welcome. There are peahens wandering around too. Still, the rooms felt tired and plain, the shower looked ugly, and there was black mold on the ceiling above the bed. For a cheap place, it was below the standard of the photos and the other places we'd stayed. It was our least favorite stop in a month of travel. The staff could get confused, and the bathroom needs remodeling, paint, and some care. They also charged for bottled water instead of providing it free, which seemed odd.

We spent four nights at Gama Heritage and had a pleasant stay. It was good value for a budget trip, with Fort cochin beach and other areas within walking distance. Breakfast was tasty, though the choices were limited: mostly Appam, with egg curry every day. There's no in-house restaurant, so breakfast is the only meal available.

From 18 December to 22nd December, our school children and educators stayed in the dorm, and it was clean, safe, and full of fun. The place was ideal for quiet reflection, with a serene setting, peacocks, and other birds. Kids had room to move around, and vehicles could be parked inside. The cafeteria was a great place to relax. We’re especially grateful to Akhil,Allen, Akash, Calvin, and Ayesha chechi for cheerfully taking care of everything, from safe, warm drinking water at any time to serving meals and meeting students' specific needs. The beach and naval maritime museum are very close, the fishing nets and Kochi Biennale venues are a 20-minute walk, and old Jew town,Matancherry is about a 15-minute drive away. It's reasonably priced too.

For what we paid, Gama Heritage Residency didn't feel like good value. The room was smaller than it appeared in the pictures and could have been cleaner, while the reception took longer than expected to respond. My stay was average and fell short of expectations. Better upkeep and quicker service would improve the experience.
