The bathroom privacy was a serious concern. Its vent is open, and a window in the adjacent building faces it, leaving the bathroom clearly visible. The property also seems to get very little maintenance, and the owner appeared focused on getting money from guests. I found the stay uncomfortable, overpriced, and poorly maintained, and would strongly advise booking another nearby hotel. We called to book and were quoted ₹1800 for a non-AC room or ₹2500 for AC. As soon as I said three people would be staying, the owner demanded an extra ₹500 without explaining why. I assumed it was for an extra bed, but we never received one, and there isn't room for one anyway. When we arrived in early December, nearly all the rooms were empty. After we put down our bags, the owner pressed me to decide how many days we'd stay, even though we'd said we weren't sure if it would be one or two. Once I said two days, he demanded an immediate transfer of ₹4600. It felt like a major red flag, though I ignored it at the time. The nights were unbearable. There were mosquitoes everywhere, with no nets or repellents, and the plants outside made things worse. The room got extremely hot, around 36°C, and I couldn't sleep. The heat and mosquitoes made me count the days until we could leave. We got nothing in return for the extra charge.

The location was good, but the room I got was tiny and had no water, air conditioning, or kitchen facilities. They advertised and charged me for a room with A/C and kitchen access, then after taking my money told me the A/C wasn't available. It was far too hot for me to stay. I can't understand all the positive reviews. I'd avoid this place.

The room was very clean and well looked after. The owner was polite and nice, and it's an easy walk to Fort Kochi from here.

Sajan, the host and caretaker, was welcoming and friendly, and the location worked well for exploring Fort Kochi. But the stay fell short in other ways. We booked an AC room, and when the power went out the AC stopped, with no generator or inverter backup. In the humid weather, that was disappointing. The property also didn't have the comfortable, charming feel we expected, and the facilities left a lot to be desired. We stayed at Orion sky wings on our last vacation, and by comparison I wouldn't recommend this room. The staff were hospitable, but the missing basics and underwhelming atmosphere took away from the experience. It may suit budget travelers, though there's plenty to improve. My wife and I had mixed feelings, 2/5.
