We were lucky to get a room after booking at the last minute. With only seven rooms, the hotel feels personal and intimate, and its central spot is handy for visiting the Biennale. Arun Kumar’s friendliness and quiet attentiveness set a lovely tone, while the staff made us feel welcome right from arrival. Breakfast was generous, wholesome, and satisfying. The old-world character comes through in the elegant decor and carefully chosen artifacts. The rooms are charming, and the whitewashed walls, cleanliness, and upkeep show how much care goes into the property. We also appreciated the bathroom’s wheelchair-friendly setup. I’ve added a few photos so you can see the place for yourself.

The thoughtful little touches made our stay at Le Colonial feel special, from lime juice and biscuits when we arrived to jasmine garlands on the beds and cold water in the car. We ate there almost every night because the food was incredible, and I wanted every recipe. Arun and his team made everything comfortable and smooth. The location is great, and the interiors are beautiful and immaculate. It’s become my favorite hotel in the world, a more unique and excellent stay than many five-star hotels I’ve visited. I recommend it without hesitation.

Around the New Year celebrations, we had a wonderful stay in the charming, beautiful building. Arun’s team provided a really well-balanced kind of hospitality, and the Indian food was very good. Cochin does get quite crowded and noisy over New Year, though.

Maybe it’s listed as a 3-star because it feels more like a fancy bed and breakfast, but the service, kindness, and delicious food made our stay feel above its class. The staff helped our family every day and went out of their way to keep us comfortable. The rooms are stunning, with antique furnishings, and the property was kept immaculate.

Right in the middle of Fort Kochi, this historic old building has good restaurants nearby. I can’t fault the experience: the room, staff, and food were all top notch. I’m looking forward to coming back.
