The entrance was difficult to find, and one of the fans could use some oiling, but I still felt it was worth what a tourist pays. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Fort Kochi beach side. Mr. Shazil greeted me warmly when I arrived and explained everything in detail. The home stay is quite spacious, with a shared living area that has a TV and audio system, plus a fully furnished kitchen that’s useful for longer visits. There are two wide balconies where you can stand and feel the salty air from the shore. The bed and toilet were clean, and towels and shampoo were already there when I arrived. I slept very well with little disturbance, and each guest gets a separate entry key, handy if a group wants to split up. Highly recommend for backpackers and longer stays.

The owners’ family took care of us, and we had a really good time together. The ambience was nice, the food was good, and getting to Fort Kochi and Mattanchery was easy. We’ll definitely visit again.
