The street outside Reds Residency was noisy early in the morning, so light sleepers might want earplugs. The stay was affordable, and the personal help we got from Phillip and Mellisa made it especially worthwhile. Phillip was very accommodating and quickly sorted out our requests using his contacts. Mellisa made delicious, authentic Keralan breakfasts and helped arrange activities and taxis. Even after we checked out, she went out of her way to help us get tickets for the Periyar Tiger Reserve when we couldn't manage it ourselves. Both hosts were reliable and helpful throughout our stay and afterwards. Reds Residency was a very pleasant place to stay in Kochi, and I'd recommend it if you want affordable accommodation with hosts who really care.

Johnson, the tuk-tuk driver Melissa recommended, took us around Fort Kochi to see the main sights, and his service was excellent. Melissa also arranged tickets for a Kathakali dance performance, which we won't forget, and made delicious homemade Keralan breakfasts each morning. The rooms and bathrooms at Reds Residency - Homestay were spotless, with a lovely atmosphere. Melissa made us feel at home from day one and shared lots of useful information. Her warm hospitality made our two-night visit memorable. Sanghamitra.

Melissa even found the tuk-tuk driver I remembered from my childhood, 15 years ago. I'm so grateful she made the effort. She also helped us plan our trip and sort out bookings, and gave us lovely recommendations for Cochi. We especially enjoyed her breakfast, which she makes with such care every day. This has been our best stay in India so far. We stayed at Reds residency twice and loved it both times. The house has its own charm, the rooms are spacious and clean, and we especially liked the cottage with its huge balcony. Melissa's kindness and hospitality really stood out. The people running this place are what make it so good. They replied quickly and clearly, gave us great ideas for things to do around Kochi, and served delicious breakfasts that looked like artwork. Mellisa was especially bubbly, kind, and generous. The rooms are spacious, with big beds and everything you need. If you're on the fence, I'd say stay here.

Melissa arranged a lovely, relaxing backwaters trip for me on non-motorised boats. I'd also recommend the Ayurvedic massages and the tuk-tuk rides to Cherai beach and beyond. She clearly cares about her guests, and I hope to come back. I booked Reds Residency after reading the glowing reviews, and wasn't disappointed. Before I even arrived, Melissa upgraded me because I was travelling alone and staying four nights. That meant a lot, since solo travellers usually get smaller rooms. Mine was spotless, spacious, and cosy, with a private bathroom, nice wooden furniture, and a great mosquito net. Breakfast was fantastic every day, with lots of tasty local dishes and plenty to eat.
