The Fern Kochi, Series by Marriott

The dining team were especially good during our 2-night, 3-day stay at The Fern, Kochi. They were attentive, courteous, and detail-oriented, on a par with The Taj Group of Hotels. Anand and Anashwara stood out for their service, and Badrinath and Joyol were also very polite and courteous. The staff’s hospitality made for a lovely stay. The rooms were comfortable, but housekeeping fell short of Marriott standards when our room was cleaned on the second day. Overall, we had an excellent experience.

We had a great visit to The Fern Kochi – Series by Marriott. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive the whole time. The property is beautifully kept and has a premium feel. Its classy, relaxing ambience made it one of the best places in Kochi for dining, events, or a stay. Highly recommended! 👍👍

The breakfast spread was good, and it was complimentary. Even during the busy 8:30 to 9:30 am period, the restaurant team provided very good service. Thanks to everyone there. Check-in and check-out were handled efficiently by the reception team. I stayed for two days over the Christmas vacation in 2025. The location was very quiet, and we were welcomed with their traditional juice. There were also delicious plum cakes at reception and in our room. Our spacious room was clean, well maintained, and just right for the stay, with fresh towels and a tidy bathroom. It was a pleasant visit. Thank you, Fern.

The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent, and the staff were courteous and seemed to mean well. They tried to be helpful, but came across as poorly trained, with little judgement or initiative. They stuck to the standard process even when an obvious adjustment made sense, and seemed miserable and apologetic while being unable to help. The room problems were spread across all three rooms in our party. One bathroom had a terrible smell that staff tried unsuccessfully to reduce. The bathrooms smelled, the shower drains were clogged, and even after staff tried to fix things, the odor remained. The towels smelled musty. A smelly towel is unacceptable at any price, and at this price it felt like gross negligence. The pillows were too thick and the bed sagged like a hammock. They do have comfortable standard-size pillows if you ask. Check-in and checkout were needlessly complicated, and they were very stingy with keys. It was a very poor stay, and one I’d keenly like to avoid in future.
