I stayed for two nights after panchakarma Ayurveda, wanting some time to rest and ease back in before my international flight from Kochi airport. Vala House was just right. I only went out once, and spent the rest of the time enjoying the private garden, enclosed terrace, and beautifully decorated bedroom overlooking the lake. Such a tranquil setting and a lovely stay. I'll certainly be back.

Vala House was a peaceful little haven and a fantastic start to our Kerala trip. We loved the decor and the backwater views, and the staff were friendly, quiet, and always smiling. The food, including breakfast, was fantastic. The kayak experience was free, too. Many thanks to the hosts!

The staff at Vala House were really kind and attentive, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. It overlooks the backwaters, with two beaches easy to reach, so you get a lovely location with both on hand. I recommend this homestay to anyone who wants to enjoy the peace, calm, and beauty of Cherai.

The location is great, right on the bank of a lake, and there was a rowboat available. Our room and washroom were clean, and the staff were welcoming. They serve breakfast only, so we had to order the rest from outside. There's no pool on the property.

The staff were caring, welcoming, and helpful, even sorting out little things like calling a riksha or Uber. It's a cozy, lovely spot with a Backwaters view, close to the beach and different restaurants. A good place to rest and relax, and I'd definitely recommend it.
