Vasco Home Stay

George was always available for my questions, and I learned a lot from him about Kochi and the surrounding area. He has kept the house's character beautifully, with books and antiques in the hall and corridor, and a lush little garden in the backyard. The spacious rooms still have lots of their original woodwork, and the room and kitchen had all the amenities. Set in Fort Kochi, Vasco house is surrounded by beautiful old buildings, streets, and historic attractions. It's said to have once belonged to Vasco Da Gama, and you can feel the history and vintage character in every corner. I loved my stay and would love to visit again. I highly recommend it.

This heritage homestay in the heart of Fort Kochi, Kerala, is believed to be over 500 years old and is reputed to have been the residence of Portuguese navigator Vasco Da Gama, who died in 1524. It has two non-air-conditioned rooms, each with its own bathroom, a sit-out, and Wi-Fi.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay. George, the owner, was unbelievably helpful and a super host. The room blew us away, and the two double beds were fab. We could watch all the New Year's build-up on the street outside. The house was used in the film Big B, so expect lots of locals taking pictures of the building.

Anyone interested in history and architecture should visit Vasco House in Fort Kochi. It's named after Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama, who discovered the sea route to India. The building is beautifully preserved and is one of the oldest Portuguese houses in India. It was also a filming location for the Malayalam movie Big B. Don't miss seeing this piece of history.
