The stay was painful from the start. The room had lizards everywhere, the blankets were very dirty, and the washroom was so filthy that public toilets are usually much cleaner. Its lock and light didn’t work, none of the charging points worked, and the water supply stopped. There was hair in the food they served, too. I don’t expect luxury from a homestay, but basic hygiene matters. I booked after reading the reviews, then wondered if they were paid and misleading. I meant to take photos, but forgot while leaving.

From 20th Feb'25 to 22nd Feb'25, I had one of the worst homestay experiences I can remember. The food was poor: the complimentary breakfast was horrible, and the chicken curry we ordered for dinner cost around Rs.300 per plate for six pieces and felt like a waste of money. The rooms and washrooms had damp, shabby walls, the property seemed poorly maintained, the washroom tap was broken, and its doors had no outside lock. The owner seemed money minded, charging for things like the complimentary 1 ltr mineral water bottle given at check-in. After we spoke to him, we got that charge deducted. We also booked an elephant ride through the property at Rs.1200 per person, then learned outside that it was actually Rs.1000 per person. They gave us no official bill or invoice for the ride, only a note on the regular hotel bill. I booked after seeing the Google reviews, but the place didn’t match them; I felt they might be irrelevant or paid, and that I’d made the wrong choice. I had a very bad stay and wouldn’t send anyone there in future.

There was lizard droppings all over my room, and the washroom was filthy, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. It also had no proper lock. I wouldn’t trust the five-star reviews.

We had a lovely visit and hope to come back. It’s a welcoming homestay for families and friends, with very polite staff and owner and great hospitality. You can cook your own meals there if you like, and they can arrange both Jeep and Elephant Safari. Good value for the budget.
