Basera Guest House

The price is very reasonable, so expectations should be in line with the low cost. The guest house is in a good part of Golpark, and the service was very good. My room was tiny, though clean and nicely decorated, and the reception area is small too. Breakfast was basic. They brought tea and coffee in cups without a jug or thermostat to keep them warm, so the drinks had gone cold before they were served. The WiFi never worked while I was there, and the staff seem to know about it. That’s a real drawback for a modern hotel and should be easy to fix. Daytime construction was also disturbing. Still, it was good value for money.

The staff were professional and very helpful, and the room was in great condition. I booked a Premium Super Deluxe room at Basera for two days, and the location was just as good. All three were 5/5 for me. ❤️

We booked a couple of rooms for family wedding guests. The rooms were clean and hygienically maintained, and the hospitality was good. Prices were reasonable too. I’d recommend staying here.

The street-facing room could get noisy, though it didn’t affect my stay too much. I also found the Wi-Fi signal a bit weak in the room, even though it was complimentary. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout. My room was clean and well kept. Basera Guest House is right in the heart of Gariahat, with shops and places to eat close by. It’s an excellent spot if you want an affordable, conveniently located stay in Kolkata. I’d definitely recommend it.
