I had a very disappointing stay at Ashraya Residency in Kolkata. The staff were shockingly poor, unprofessional, unresponsive, and sometimes outright rude. I felt their glowing Google reviews were manipulated, since what I experienced was nothing like the praise online. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but I was charged for it, along with extra fees that hadn’t been disclosed upfront. The management seemed shady, as if squeezing money from guests mattered more than providing decent service. They couldn’t care less about guests. Stay far away if you value transparency and good service. Don’t be a victim of this misleading information. Avoid at all costs.

The rooms were just okay, nothing fancy, but we had a good stay at Ashraya. The friendly, helpful staff and owner made the experience good.

The food is amazing, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The owner is a lovely person, and the staff are cooperative and good. I’ve stayed here several times. It’s budget friendly and in a prime location.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The service was awful and the staff were rude and arrogant. I asked for an extra towel because the one provided wasn’t clean, and the staff misbehaved with me. The rooms aren’t very clean either. Worst hotel to stay.

The room was impeccably clean and the rates were affordable. I recently stayed here and was impressed by the staff, especially Sujit da, who was very courteous. I highly recommend paying this place a visit.
