The rooms were comfortable, and a few even had balconies where you could relax. Guru Kripa Hotel is close to Tata Hospital in New Town and costs around 1000 per day, so it suits travelers watching their budget. There’s AC, a geyser, TV, and Wifi in the rooms, though the dining hall food is just average. They don't accept online bookings. It's a practical low-cost place to stay, without luxury or standout service.

Even in this posh area, the homestay was in worse condition than I expected. The staff were awful to deal with, and for every little thing we had to call them again and again. We asked twice or so for blankets and pillows, but none were available or brought to us. There was no WIFI connectivity. The owner should take action right away.

The rooms felt cramped and very small, and the staff were rude throughout our stay. On the first day, they said I had to pay extra even for a bottle of water. They gave no bill, and the reception staff kept changing. Then someone suddenly told us to check out because new customers were coming. They had no record of our payment and spoke rudely when we said we'd already paid for the day.

The locality was nice, the rooms were a decent size, and the service was good. The Wifi didn't work while I was there, though, and breakfast could use more choices. Overall, a good place to stay.

We arrived to check in after pre-booking, and they suddenly said they don't take online bookings. After some argument, we asked them to book us another room, but then they said they don't accept couples. Their behavior was really rude. When we said we were calling customer care, they even told us not to stay there for more than 10 minutes. Horrible experience. Worst service and behavior, they don't know how to treat guests. Faltu hotel, I wouldn't recommend going there.
