FabHotel Paradise Inn Salt Lake

The owner was rude and misbehaved with us, and the service was horrible. They first showed us one room, then gave us a smaller one after payment. The AC didn't work properly, cleanliness was zero, and they seemed eager to charge extra at every opportunity. The staff were unprofessional and didn't know how to treat customers. If you're in Kolkata, don't choose this hotel. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

The tall manager canceled our booking at the last moment, leaving us with no option but to pay him four times the price we had booked for. He said he would have canceled even if we'd paid fully online because another customer was willing to pay more, since I had booked during discounts. He was a terrible, money-hungry man, and I consider him a fraud. The place is nasty for more than 2k. You can find better hotels in the 800-1000 range than this rubbish. Their behavior is terrible too. Please don't visit. I'll take strict action against these frauds. I suggest confirming with OYO and the hotel before you arrive anywhere.

We booked through booking.com and left because of the owner's rude, misbehaving attitude and the cheap behavior and business mindset we encountered. We tried to be patient while dealing with the issue of getting a confirmation email from OYO, but they showed no sense of how to talk to customers and seemed to look for any chance to charge extra. The owner put his ego ahead of good business. If you want a peaceful stay in Kolkata, don't consider this place. I would have given zero stars if I could.

The TV never worked, and the AC stopped working the next day. It made noise all night, so I didn't sleep peacefully, but we still had to pay the full rent with no discount or compensation. The owner also ignored the rule against smoking in common areas and smoked at reception all the time. I went to hospital the next day because of lung damage from passive smoking. We had booked the rooms in advance with around 3k balance, but the balance due had gone up when we arrived. I had to cancel some events because I was short of money. Scam 2022. Better to stay at the railway station than this hotel.
