OYO 9981 Tulip Guest House

The room had no lock, so the place felt very unsafe. The manager and his assistant were awful, with no manners, and the receptionist was uneducated and rude. They argued over the Rs 100 I had paid the rickshaw driver and charged extra just to use the AC. I paid what they asked, but they switched the AC off in the morning. Avoid this hotel.

We had booked two nights because we were in town for an exam. After the first night, they refused to let us check in for the next one because we had complained that the dirty bedsheets were giving us skin rashes. Even after we explained about the exam and pleaded with them, they harassed us and threw our luggage and clothes out of the room. We booked through OYO, but even its senior manager couldn't get the staff to let us back in. The staff here are the most illiterate, uncultured, stubborn brutes I've come across, with no decency toward guests. The owner is a hypocrite who deliberately hires rogue staff. Don't trust the OYO ratings. The owner responds to bad reviews by apologizing for the inconvenience, but they don't mean it.

I had dirty, smelly towels, and the free breakfast portions were tiny. The bedsheets were dirty with shoe marks; when I asked for clean ones, management laughed and said they couldn't change them. They couldn't provide extra pillows either. Food was expensive and tasteless, Rs 220 for a veg thaali. Outside food and washing clothes weren't allowed. They also refused my request to extend by an hour. My room's electricity went off an hour before checkout, while power was still on in reception and the other rooms. They said a fuse had blown. The receptionist seemed to know nothing and begged me to give five stars so he could get Rs 20. Stay away from this guest house. OYO should inspect properties properly before associating with them.

The rooms are tiny, and both the owner and caretaker behaved very badly. They imposed a lot of terms and conditions only after we'd paid, even though none had been mentioned beforehand. They also demanded payment as soon as we arrived. I haven't had this kind of experience before. It was awful, and I'd give it a negative rating. If you have another option, choose a different OYO room.
