FabHotel Sunshine

I stayed for over a month, and this relatively new hotel was cleaner than all the other places I’d stayed in before. They really don’t like longer stays booked through OYO. The lobby manager kindly accommodated me for a week, then I booked locally and stayed there without using OYO. I was in Room No. 304. Don’t expect room service like cleaning after they give you a room. I spoke with management and only got clean bedsheets and towels. Wi-Fi is free, and there’s an in-house restaurant that delivers to the room, but its food costs more than at nearby food joints.

We had to contact fab customer care, and even then they kept us waiting for more than an hour in the reception area while mosquitoes bit us. The receptionist had no idea how online bookings through fab hotels worked and told us to cancel online and book directly at the property. The hotel looked nothing like its photos. It’s in a shady area, and it seemed as if illegal activities were going on there. I wish I could give minus stars.

The location worked well for my business in the Rajarhat/AA 2 area, and I booked directly through the Fabhotels app for two nights. My deluxe room was average in size, clean and comfortable. Staff were generally friendly, though they charged Rs. 30 for a water bottle, a 50% markup. I paid Rs. 300 extra for early check-in. I’d chosen complimentary breakfast, but the options were extremely limited: bread and butter, bread omelette or Maggi. It wasn’t worth it. The stay was just okay.

The staff were rude this time, and the hotel didn’t provide even basic service.
