We stayed for a week in the balcony room, which was a good size and had traditional Indian guest house furnishings. Mr Islam was a very welcoming manager, and the staff were attentive without being pushy. There are plenty of restaurants and fruit wallahs nearby. It’s a nice, reasonably priced place in central Calcutta, as long as you’re happy with that traditional style of furniture. The WiFi was fairly reliable for India and had good speed.

The area felt very safe, with great places to eat and interesting things to see and do. My wife, our two teenage children and I spent three nights on the 3rd floor. Hotel 21 was clean, spacious and comfortable, with plenty of charm, and it was very well priced. The staff were excellent. We thoroughly recommend staying here.

It’s hard to find somewhere in Kolkata that’s well maintained and reasonably priced, but this place was great. We enjoyed our time here and ended up staying twice. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it 😊

I arrived at 3:00 AM and stayed three nights with my children. The staff were excellent in their behavior and very helpful. This is a very good hotel.

That lovely balcony was a special bonus. I spent four nights at Hotel 21 and really enjoyed my time there. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and the location is great. The staff took especially good care of me and helped with whatever I needed. It’s a real insider tip, and I’ll stay there again when I’m next in Kolkata.
