When I'm in Bara Bazaar for work, I like staying here. I can buy goods nearby and have them delivered to the hotel, and the team handles everything smoothly, which makes my trips easier. The location is convenient, with everything close, and it feels safe for families. Rooms can be a little small and sometimes dusty, but the staff and hospitality are excellent. I believe Hotel Himalaya is one of the best options in the area, practical and reliable for a stay.
It's old, and the rooms are dark, damp, gloomy, and stinky. Cockroaches run around despite the deep, fluffy smell of pest control. The hotel hasn't been upgraded since the nineties. Apart from the location, it isn't worth it and is not good value for money.
I stayed for three days. On day two, someone stole a carry bag that had two bags inside; on the third day, a packet with three toys went missing. A shirt I'd deliberately left there because I had no further use for it also couldn't be found by the staff. That clearly indicates to me that they were the ones who did this. The toys were for my children. I called after getting home, but didn't get a satisfactory response. A very bad experience.
A nice, pleasant stay on a business trip. The location is very convenient for getting to all the places and markets, and it's easy to get around.
For a short stay, this is a good choice if easy access matters more than room amenities. Hotel Himalaya is in a great spot for business visitors and anyone exploring Bada Bazar. The staff are friendly and responsive, and hospitality was pleasant. The rooms are functional and just okay, without much comfort or luxury.
