We were returning to our hometown after a trip and needed a room near the station because we'd booked a train for the next day. The hotel we'd stayed at on the way there was superb, but it had no room available for our return, so we booked here. We arrived at 8 pm, freshened up, and went out for dinner, as we normally do when staying elsewhere. Then the manager called and threatened to inform the police. Our day as tourists turned into the worst nightmare of our lives. We were traveling with two friends, and the staff's rude behavior and an unnecessary fine made for the worst stay. They don't know how to treat guests, and the experience convinced us not to visit Kolkata again. We would never have stayed that night if we hadn't had an early train the next morning. At northeastern dormitory, the manager had been kind even when we were late and suggested places to see in the city. This hotel's behavior was the complete opposite. The rooms were cheap, and so was the staff's attitude.

The location near Sealdah station is especially handy for travelers. At Narendra Niketan, the rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff stayed polite and helpful throughout my comfortable stay. It's a great budget friendly place.

The manager was polite and pleasant, and both the rooms and toilets were clean. One of the best places I've stayed.

They treated us rudely and charged a fine without telling us in time. The staff don't know how to behave with guests. This is the worst hotel I've ever visited, and I'd tell people never to stay here. You'll regret it.
