I didn't get to see any rooms, but the reception felt cozy and the front yard was quite nice. The place is near Science City, right by the EM Bypass and across from Ritwik Ghatak metro station. 🌟 3.8/5

Update as of 08.04.2026: They refunded my 200 rupees today and apologised for the delay. The room and bed were okay, and I was ready to leave a good review, but one of the two shared washroom areas had no water. The restaurant food was highly pricey, though the location is on the main road. I also didn't get my locker security money back until today, despite following up for 10 days. Two hundred rupees isn't a big amount, but having to chase it constantly irritated me. I'd recommend staying only if the dorm is below or around 500 Rs. Don't eat at the restaurant, and if you get a locker, take your security money upfront. Don't trust the online bullshit drama.

After a lot of searching for hostels near acropolis mall, I found this place and stayed four nights. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and I really enjoyed my time in kolkata.

The rooms were clean and the staff were good. We also got free breakfast, which was really good, including a terrific sugar free option. It's a very nice place.

Offbeat CCU is in a great location and has decent amenities, though the service was inconsistent and the community events were hit-or-miss. Maybe I caught them on an off day?
