Oyo 91148 Comfort Inn

The hotel has changed its name to prime plaza. It’s in a peaceful, very prime location, and the service was very good.

I’ve stayed in a dozen hotels in Kolkata, and this was one of my best experiences. The staff were friendly and ready to help with whatever I needed. The hotel felt like a hidden paradise, with comprehensive amenities and thoughtful attention to detail throughout. Thank you so much.

The paintings were the one thing I really liked at Oyo Rooms 91148 on 72nd Street, Newtown. The room size and lighting were okay, and the bed was comfortable, but mosquitoes were inside and the washroom jet spray was broken. The bedsheet also wasn’t properly washed. At Rs. 1000-1500 a night, the stay felt very average and below par. The receptionist asked for more than the Oyo booking price. We complained to Oyo customer service, but the call was put on hold endlessly. Since it was late and we were exhausted, we had no choice but to pay extra. The gate is locked from 12 AM to 8 AM, and there’s no room service during those hours. I’d check other options first to avoid the same experience.

I stayed for a week, and it was good value for money overall. The hotel was clean and felt safe. Staff were polite and welcoming, and although there was a small issue with room allocation when I arrived, they sorted it quickly and apologized. The location is handy, near general stores, medical shops, Toto (e-rickshaw) rides, and a Reliance fresh nearby. Having a water heating kettle in the room was a nice gesture, though the kettles could be cleaned more often.
